最近的我

最近得了暴食症,挺严重的。
这个鬼地方,不宜久留。

最近8点半才算天黑,跟之前冬天4点天黑真的差很多。

还在调试季节变化、一小时的时差...
Crab说夏天10点才天黑,那时我应该差不多要回去了...

澳洲的四季并没有日长夜短之差,
根据G的说法,冬天和夏天拥有一样的阳光,
EL要不要分享澳洲的情况如何?

Easter break 要来了,
心情也好像开始放假了,
天啊,我要努力做功课!

想说,
我很幸福。
而且会一直幸福下去。

幸福的味道应该也是越久越醇。

Earth hour

FIRST OF ALL, THANKS FOR THOSE PARTICIPATING EARTH HOUR.

I heard Singapore flyer did turn off the lights too. Crab was suggested to go Gateshead Millenium Bridge to see if they switched the lights off. But it turns cooler recently (3degC) and I was lazy...

10 mins more to end the earth hour. I did have a great time. I switched off light at 8pm, watching chang jia 7 hao while drinking my green bean soup and sat next to crab, on my bed.

Nice movie, nice soup prepared by crab and nice moment.

Its a shame that we watched it after 14months the movie was launched. Heez. It was a nice movie and my tears did drop a little when the dad died. I fear that anyone is leaving me soon. I do have the fear. Never Never pls.

I'm still waiting 9mins...

Blog a little about my recent life.

As usual, nothing suprise. I've decided to end the statistical analysis of FYP and start to drafting Result and Discussion section. Did not manage to find Ian for the SP lecturer name cards, and Richard for the Molecular seminar feedback and marks on Friday.

As usual, I'm suffered from xiang si bing which is one of the consequences of long distance relationship.

Seems nothing else...

1min...

Oh yes, tonight after 12:59, it will turn to 2am for the next minute. WE ARE NOW ONLY 7 HOURS DIFFERENT FROM SG & MY.

Rugi satu jam hari ini!

AND ITS 930 NOW!

SAVE EARTH!

P/s: -1 deg C... Wat lah.. Spring leh..UK weather is really kns ><

Ferroro Rondnoir dark chocolates

£3.49 for a 12pcs box

And I got them for half price only. Too bad they are expiring in April. Are they up in the shelf in Sg or My?

I've been wanting to get them since they launched before Xmas and it was too expensive for me... Today, Wilkinson sold them at half price.. so happy that I get to try them eventually. Dark chocolate is full of antioxidant, how a chocolate lover would ever miss them??

They taste awesome!! A very mild bitter taste, the typical dark chocolate feel~

I love dark chocolate and ferroro Rondnoir dark chocolates!

I do love ferroro rocher too.

Love ^^

Btw, today we discussed about table manners in the socialogy of food. Interesting lesson, and I realised that European and American do care their table manners very much. E.g. changing of fork from your left to right hand (vice versa) in the restaurant is considered bad table manner in the UK.

And alot of interesting one.

I like today's lecture about food psychological and socialogy.

Additionally, I heard from Ian that 2 lecturers from SP was here yesterday! They are discussing franchise the food science and nutrition degree(not my human nutrition) in SP! Interesting... and Ian just learnt that I was SP graduate and kept showing his regrets for not inviting me for the lunch. Oh no, i missed a decent lunch with lecturers from here and SP.

Going to find out who were here yesterday. I suspect Jasmine is one of them... Another one is possibly... Mrs Ser? Ms Toh?? Answer will be revealled on Friday!

Flight return date confirmed - 24 July

British Airxxx officers are always not-so-polite, at least I didnt have any pleasant speaking experiences with them, from my 6 calling experiences in both Singapore and UK. BA service is really poor rated!

Nevertheless, I've successfully changed my return date FOC, as promised when I purchased my ticket about one year ago. There should be a changing fee of SGD75 incurred for date changing but mine is special circumstance- as their system doesnt allow me to book till the date of july/aug. Noted down the officer received my call - David.

24 July 5.50pm depart from Newcastle and arrive Singapore on 25 July 5.05pm, T1! Then I will be heading back to Penang on 29 July 10am from JB by Air Asia. Back to Singapore in August for job hunting.

Since no one is coming, I've decided to go back earlier.

I'M NOT GOING TO CHANGE MY RETURN DATE TO LATER DATE FOR ANY REASON!

jialat, im so excited that I've confirmed my return date...keep imaging wat's the first thing I would do..too much to do, to eat. haha! concentrate on cholesterol lowering diet pls....

exam schedule and saving tips

I never know that I would nervous by checking exam timetable.

Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics - Paper 1: Closed Book.
21 May 2:00PM-3:40PM LIP303(sd)

Molecular Pathophysiology - Paper 1: Written Closed Book
02 Jun 2:00PM-5:10PM *St James'(sd)

I have 11days to study molecular pathophysiology...I hope it is considered good, but I know the time will pass so slowly for that 11days...

Hmmm..kinda having mixture feeling now. It is kinda fast that I'm going to finish my degree while I start feeling bu she de..

The most impt thing is I gotta ensure I can hand in my FYP beautifully on 1 MAY!! Getting closer and yet im progressing so slowly!!! Argh!!

The life here can be bored but yet simple and nice. minus off the missing and boring part, it could be great!

btw, I hope I can break the record that I can spend <£40 for the total expenses this month. For the march, I only bought my grocery once or twice before, top up £5 & £11.50 for the mobile phone & skype calling credit respectively. Feel so good that I save alot this month, because next month i gotta spend big for the holland & belgium trip ><

The tip for saving in the UK is to be vegetarian and cook yourself (I only dine out for 2 times in the Newcastle so far ^^). Fruits & vege are alot more cheaper than any kind of meat and chicken drum is the cheapest meat available here. I'm mainly consuming fruits & vege. Chicken breast meat is 5x or more expensive than the equivalent weight of chicken drumstick. Recently I've stopped eating the chicken drumstick after long period of consuming them regularly, they turn disgusting for me now, though it is the cheapest meat source. Nevertheless, I couldnt stop my favourite fish intake. Fresh fish can be extremely expensive here but try ur luck to catch the promotion in the market. I've been taking canned salmon & sardine & frozen fish fillet these few weeks cause they're much more cheaper than any kind of fresh fish!

Another saving strategy is to be 'zai nv', meaning stay at home & kinda anti-social. It saves my socialising fee (dining/entertainment), phone bill and time!! Otherwise, invite your friend to your hostel for the coffee & tea. In fact, I do really enjoy the personal time I have! Everything is simple here. Simple meal, simple lifestyle, simple relationships in terms of love, friendship and family. I love simple and simple is the goal. Wondering if I can be so simple in Singapore. I hope I do preserve some personal time & money. Haha.

Keep saving and try hard to be vegetarian =p

Afterall, I guess I can still bring back about 20% of initial funding if nothing emergency happens and all the travelling fees are within my estimation! SAVE saVe savE!

The thing is... Summer is the peak travelling season in the whole Europe, I hope I wont be underestimating the travelling fee for June& July!!

Hadrian Wall day out

Firstly, today i made tomato & onion omelette. Nice lo~~ I love it ^^

Then we joined Building an Active Community (BAAC) programme for a day out to Hadrian Wall. As a student from School of Applied Science, I pay nothing while crab has to pay £3.

The famous Hadrian wall was built about 2000years ago by Roman emperor to act as a frontier. It is one of the world heritage side attracting both walking and cycling visitors. It streches 72 miles across the northern part of the UK, while we only walked 7.5miles today, and it costed us about 5.5hours.

An old couple from London told us: I thought we must have a look at Hadrian Wall for once. What I think is... it is one of the must-see heritage for Britain. Hadrian wall is one of the most well-preserved heritage left from Roman.

Sharply after one hour since departure, we arrived Hadrian Wall. Disappointedly, it was so foggy and freezing! We lost sight to the student organiser and finally we decided to take our own sweet time to take photos and enjoy the scenery along the path.

It was really a waste that the nice scenery was masked by haze. But i think the best scenery in Hadrian Wall is sunset. They are really gorgeous as I saw from Internet. Too bad, evening was our time to leave.

Nevertheless, I did enjoy the walk very much. Not too difficult for the hiking part but we were worrying if we were in the right path as there was none in the path we followed...

Well, I was being called as 'gayanya macam orang sport' by a newly known malay friend, who sticked to us for the whole journey =.= I guess he is probably attracted by my DSLR, kept asking me to take photo for him =.= On the other hand, I'm quite happy that there is someone taking photo of crab and me ^^ Overall, it was an enjoyable trip ^^ Staying away from city and assignments while enjoying the fresh air and gerak kaki tangan aku (move my hands and legs), nothing can be greater than this at this moment.

P/s: today is the day I spoke the greatest amount of Malay for the past 5years, since I graduated from sec sch. He said I speak like real malay, quite happy that I still maintain certain level of Malay, though I mix english and malay alot. Haha

<<<<>>>>

So romantic ^^

I took better photo right =p

Hadrian has diverse views in 4 seasons and evening is the best time to be there!

Twice brewed pub.

Bonus- after arriving in campus.

I enjoyed the trip so much~~
But sad for crab that she always suffers from the coldness ~

Look how the freezing weather makes our hands swelling & possibly causing pain =(
