Decision on FYP..headache

Indecisive...

Whenever there are choices available, it could be annoying too.

For FYP titles.. Lecturer given directions as below:
1. Probiotic and the shelf life. As I research further, probiotic is very beneficial to human body to create the healthy ecological environment in GI system and to prevent cancer to certain extent. However, the viability and survival of probiotic bacteria in foods are low. Thus, several factors like oxygen, incorporation of prebiotic can be helpful. If I choose this, I will work more on technical aspect? I wonder if it will too much away from HUMAN NUTRITION,as what I shld be focused.. I doubt so.

2. Probiotic and acidity. This is more "chim" to me and I dun find it interesting. Could be adjusting the pH on milk and culture the probiotic in to access the acid shock/stress response of probiotic bacteria. I even find out some journal did it by collecting faeces from panelist and analyse it. Omg! Though it will help to identify how the probiotic can survive in different pH medium.

3. Probiotic and raffinose. Searched that raffinose is oligosaccharides, found in sugarbeet. Lecturer is very interested to know how the raffinose can influence the probiotic bacteria in antioxidative aspect. Well, it is really no research has been done, and you will never know if this works. It is very risky but challenging.

4. Comparison of diet history of Malaysian and UK diet as suggested by lecturer and more relevant to my course of study. However, this is very difficult, to find 15 panelists each and need to really strict to ask them record all their diet for 3days. It is not an easy job to train them and make sure they do it correctly. The source of panelists is a main problem too. Very troublesome in compiling the data. But it is more relevant to my course compared with others mentioned above.

I'm so headache! Gosh... Stress ar...

I think I'm more likely to go for choice one-probiotic and shelf life as the sources seems to be more available. But kinda food tech based. Haiz.. I'm nutritionist >< but I could have more market value when back to SG to work with this as the FYP? Nutritionist job is so much harder to find.. haiz..

Any suggestion?

The last option sounds interesting and definetely related to your study. If I had enough panelists who can help me, I would work on this topic. The results may become some useful data in future.

Otherwise I would opt for Probiotic and acidity. It reminds me of Yakult or Vitagen.... More people are taking up these kinda supplement beverage. The market will still grow, esp in SE Asia.
