My hostel

After writing my outcome of studies, which i always like to share my findings. I wanna talk about my hostel... It has the positive sides, where it is very private, I own my whole room, though not big. It feels so good, its so called FREEDOM!

I don't mean I have no freedom in Singapore, but i need to responsible for the tidiness, the electrical bill, and blah blah blah.. With contrast to my friend next door, I really not-so-tidy, as in my table is full of my articles, foods, stationary, camera and drinks... And I dun have hanger in my room, so I place them on top of the shelf...erm..so look really messy. Haha, but I dont mind, cause personal space, as long as I know where can I find my things.

The negative side of this hostel... PLENTY! Occasionally, no heater, like now. It has been falling to one-digit degree celcius temperature and strong wind, I shut the window, wear long sleeve and pants but still feeling cold. Occasionally, no hot water, which means I cant bath! All above I can endure, the worst thing is the FIRE ALARM!!! It always rings falsely, as in due to smoking or cooking (YES, IT IS VERY SENSITIVE!) and half of the occasions in midnight, we tried going out in 1am, 2am, 3.30am, 5am, 630 am... and day and night time too...

IT ALWAYS DISTURB OUR RESTING TIME!! REALLY FRUSTRATED! We have been here for 43 days, and we experience at least 12 times of fire alarms, can you imagine the frequency? Average once in 3-4 days?? This is RIDICULOUS!

I already have forbia, putting my thick jacket and long pants on side, incase it rings, I can go out quickly. ITS DAMN COOL OUTSIDE! I really hate firealarms!!! We always laugh those bring their foods or wearing shower cap or towel on wet hairs.. Who knows if one day I'm bathing and it rings??!!!

Fortunately I have no morning class this sem, wat if i have next sem? Like my neighbour who miss their early lesson this morning due to 3am fire alarm?!!!

Besides, the noise also irritating, but I think I'm less sensitive as my neighbours. They are more frequently disturb by the noise due to doors (heavy doors everywhere, to block fire and smokes,just in case) and walk-by residents. Last night, those angmoh drunk and keep making noise in our kitchen and walk way till 3am.. and 330, the alarm rang! SOme of them cant sleep due to the noise and finally they thought they can sleep, but the alarm rang!!!!!!! OK, I'm inert to those noise but cant resist to firealarms!!!!

Minor part is the dimming light, I dun understand why they put such a dimming light in hall of residence, and I heard, in most of the UK university residences. FUNNY RIGHT? Keep making us sleepy.. But well, I'm quite ok with it...

OK, enough of complains, despite the fire alarms, im actually quite ok to anything... I still need to endure till JULY 2009...

OKOK..back to wrap up my literature review.. and good night.
