Nutrigenomics- should your diet be tailored to your genes?
Still in the process of completion T_T and I dont know if im in the right track...
though it is only draft, will be posted to blackboard and evaluated by peers, and finalise it in 2 weeks but I still hope it would be similar to my final poster so they could critically evaluate it.
My first assignment dateline is tomorrow and I'm still editing it in library now, near 11pm! This bioethics poster is driving me nuts as I dunno the right way to present it and nutrigenomics is at the infancy research level, for about a decade. But I like the topic I chose- imaginable if your diet and nutrition is personalised by your gene in the future? Take a genetic testing by a nutrigenomics company, based on your potential risk of disease expressed by your genes, match to dietary program or tailor a diet and you lower your risk to certain disease, extent years of life. Dont doubt, it could happen in coming 20 years.
But have you ever thought that your genetic informations could be used by insurance to tailor your premiums too? High risk -> high value of premiums.
Choose your embryo by genetic information?
Goverment shifts the health responsibility to individuals?
and blah blah blah
UPDATED 17NOV.
Draft poster to be posted up to blackboard..
Sure lots of amendment.. Interesting to do if give me plenty of time.haha
